on the June 2008
. This is an honor -- the reporters are independent radio and
media folks who are NOT in the employ of corporate interests and decide
for themselves what's good and what's not. Triskaidekaphilia was still on
the chart at the #2 spot for July. Thanks to the FAR reporters. They
and their stations are pretty much the only reason to own a radio now

Mar. 24, 2008 - The release date for the new CD is official
-- June 3 (and yes, that's 2008 for the skeptics.) Titled, "Triskaidekaphilia"
(meaning "love of the number thirteen") the CD is, you
guessed it, thirteen tracks from the AM Band. The CD includes Chevy
Headed West, a poignant first hand recollection of the death of
Robert Kennedy, the rockin' Texas Hold 'Em anthem, Here's the River,
and eleven more memorable songs. Buy it direct from The
Music Room web site or from CD
Feb. 17, 2008 - Almost two years after beginning "Jim's
Country Jam" at Brentwood Tavern, Jim has found a new, tenative home
for the jam at Waterloo Icehouse, 1106 West 38th Street. The first jam
will be Feb. 17th, with additional dates booked for March 2 and March 16.
As always, we'll play all country honky-tonk standards from Jim's
BIG BOOK. Bring your own instrument. See Jim's
Country Jam (<--click here) web site for more information.
Feb. 1, 2007 - David Lewis has succesfully launched his new label, TwangBrand,
with the title, Hand Picked, a "roots country
jukebox" compilation that features music, in addition to Jim
Stringer & the AM Band, from Dave Insley, The Brooklyn
Cowboys, Moe-D, Poor Man's Whiskey, Chevy Downs Band and others. It's
a cohesive, but eclectic within the genre, collection with some great
performances. Check it out!
